The Internet of Things (IoT) is an interconnected network of physical devices, items, and equipment integrated with sensors, software, and networking capabilities that allow them to gather and share data with one another and central systems over the internet.
Example
In human resources, IoT can help to improve workplace safety. Wearable gadgets with sensors, for example, can continuously track employees' vital signs and movements. If a worker's heart rate rises abnormally or they fall, an alarm is sent to the HR department, allowing for prompt action and perhaps averting accidents or health problems.
